“ The coaches on this programme are the best in the world and I hope we will see the work they do feeding down to the rest of the sport.”
Clive Woodward - Elite Performance Director for the British Olympic Association
(Tag headed up Sensory-motor skills development on the B.O.A’s Elite Performance Programme).

“It was the first time that I’ve done anything like this - difficult! I can see the point of focusing [the eyes] on different things at the same time. It definitely made me more aware, sharpening the speed with which I look to left and right and shifting my focus from short to long while staying relaxed.”
Frank Arnesen (former Director of Youth & Recruitment @ Chelsea FC)

“I could see a lot of players who struggle with concentration benefiting from this [programme] including many senior players…The four-ball football is a real challenge – You really have to give it your all…Interesting to note that the technically more gifted players tend to be the best at doing your drills.”
Gareth Southgate

“ There’s mileage in your programme, there’s no doubt about it. The football game is fast and the player’s visual reactions are vital…Your practice formula I think is very interesting and enlightening… It reinforces how vital it is [for players] to get in that ½ second before the next guy. A lot of that comes from the visual field.
“Although your approach is very different, the practical drills you’ve devised I think could have potential, improving reaction and anticipation. And if you’ve found a way
to help players gain that extra half a second, then, given time, you’ll get a good reaction. No doubt about it.”
Brendon Rogers

“Having experienced EyeCoach first hand, I felt energised and extremely focused. If we can get players in this state of mind to train and perform in match situations, it can only enhance the qualities they already possess”
Damien Roden
( High Performance Director Seattle Sounders FC, formerly with Bolton Wanderers, Stoke City and QPR)

“ I BELIEVE EYECOACH WILL PROVE VERY GOOD FOR A PLAYER’S CO-ORDINATION SKILLS AND I CAN SEE HOW THE PROGRAMME WILL CERTAINLY HELP DEVELOP PERIPHERAL VISION”.
JOHN HARBIN (Performance Director at pro clubs including Crystal Palace, Charlton Athletic, Swansea City and Plymouth Argyle.)

"You want to make things fun. You want to make things interesting and challenging," says Colin Calderwood, the manager of the League Two club [Northampton Town], of the new addition to his training routine. "But there's more to it than just having a laugh. I think there's really something going on here."
Colin Calderwood ( Manager with Northampton Town thenAssistant Manager at Newcastle United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Aston Villa)

“ I THINK THE EYECOACH CONCEPT IS UNIQUE AND INNOVATIVE AND FOOTBALL NEEDS NEW IDEAS AND INITIATIVES SUCH AS THIS TO GO FORWARD.
I THINK THE PROGRAMME WILL ADD AN EXTRA DIMENSION TO PLAYER AND TEAM DEVELOPMENT AND WILL BE OF INTEREST PARTICULARLY TO ELITE PLAYERS AND TEAMS, BUT I THINK IT WOULD OF INTEREST TO EVERYBODY, ACROSS THE BOARD WHO WANTS TO IMPROVE.
THE FITNESS SIDE, THE TECHNICAL SIDE, THE SKILLS SIDE, THE TACTICAL AND ALL THE AREAS OF COACHING AND MANAGEMENT HAVE BEEN FAIRLY WELL CATERED FOR…BUT, THE EYECOACH VISION TRAINING PROGRAMME ADDS A WHOLE NEW AREA TO PLAYER DEVELOPMENT.
WE HAVE IN THE PAST TAKEN IT FOR GRANTED THAT A PLAYER’S ‘VISION’ DEVELOPS NATURALLY. TAG LAMCHE HAS CERTAINLY DONE ENOUGH TO CONVINCE ME THAT IT DOESN’T, AND THAT EYECOACH WILL REDRESS THIS WEAKNESS.
I THINK THE EYECOACH APPROACH WILL LEAD TO SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT IN BOTH PLAYING AND IN COACHING OVER THE COMING YEARS”.
SIMON CLIFFORD (HEAD OF THE INTERNATIONAL CONFEDERATION FUTEBOL DE SALAO / BRAZILIAN SOCCER SCHOOLS)
“ Good vision is a crucial skill. The best players tend to have better ability at taking snap shots of the play as it unfolds around them. For example, before they receive the ball or whilst controlling it, they’re always glancing up looking for those vital early cues. Looked at from this point of view, from what I’ve seen, EyeCoach looks interesting.”
DAVE BILLOWS (Sports Scientist with England National Team Sports Scientist and Head of Sports Science / Performance at Everton, Newcastle and Real Sociedad)
“ The EyeCoach programme is the best thing I’ve seen in a long time. I am most impressed. The basis of the modern game involves a very quick interchange of players and the ball, with players compelled into making decisions very quickly. I believe this ability can be greatly enhanced with awareness that stems from vision training as exemplified by your programme.
“Pre-emptive thought and movement comes from intelligent anticipation, making decisions before the ball is played, reading the visual cues. This aspect of the game is vital and your approach here could have an important bearing; as a means to help improve concentration and quicken and extend visual reactions, EyeCoach could be a very useful coaching tool."
JIM KELMAN (FOOTBALL COACH EDUCATOR, EUFA ‘A’ LICENCE HOLDER / TUTOR ASSESSOR & former manager of Wycombe Wanderers FC)
“ THE THREE SKILLS THE [EYECOACH] PROGRAMME IS POTENTIALLY DEVELOPING ARE:
1.GREATER AWARENESS OF WHAT’S GOING ON AROUND YOU, THROUGH MORE APPROPRIATE PROCESSING THROUGH PERIPHERAL VISION AND THE USE OF SACCADIC EYE MOVEMENTS.
2. THE ABILITY TO BE ABLE TO PERFORM TWO OR THREE SKILLS SIMULTANEOUSLY, I.E: EXTRACTING INFORMATION FROM THE DISPLAY [THE REAL MATCH SITUATION] WHILE BEING CONCERNED ABOUT THE CONTROL OF THE BALL AND LOOKING FOR SUITABLE PASSING OPTIONS. I THINK THERE IS A STRONG THEORITICAL BACKDROP THAT WOULD SUPPORT THOSE BENEFITS.
3. I THINK THE EXERCISES DO ENCOURAGE GREATER ADAPTABILITY IN THE USE OF DIFFERENT SOURCES OF SENSORY INFORMATION. VISION AND ARTICULAR [MUSCLE/JOINT/LIMB] PROPRIOCEPTION AND THE INTERACTION OF THOSE. THIS MAY WELL IMPROVE THE PLAYER’S PROPRIOCEPTIVE ABILITY TO CONTROL THE BALL”.
A POTENTIAL WAY TO ENHANCE A PLAYER’S PERFORMANCE IS TO INCREASE THE LOAD THAT WOULD NORMALLY BE EXPERIENCED IN A REAL MATCH ENVIRONMENT. AND THIS I THINK IS AN INTERESTING ASPECT OF WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
IN TERMS OF TRAINING THE VISUAL ABILITIES OF PLAYERS, THE EYECOACH EYE EXERCISES, I WOULD SAY, ARE GETTING CLOSER TO THE REAL WORLD PERFORMANCE ENVIRONMENT”.
